WorkSafe is investigating after a man was killed in an industrial incident, about 300 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, Thursday morning.
It is understood the man was operating a crane when he was fatally injured.
Shortly after 7.00am Thursday, emergency services were alerted to a fatal incident at the Kane Road steel company.
They found the man aged in his 30s dead underneath steel.
More than 100 Australian workers have been killed in work-related incidents in the last eight months, according to Safe Work Australia.
The Transport, postal & warehousing workplaces have reported the highest number of fatalities (33), followed by Agriculture, forestry & fishing (32). Construction workplaces have recorded 10 fatalities since the beginning of 2016.
